About the Artist – Jeffrey Tover
Jeffrey Tover is a Northern California abstract painter whose dynamic works pulse with emotional intensity and vibrant movement. Drawing inspiration from the Abstract Expressionist masters of the 1940s and ’50s—Willem DeKooning, Joan Mitchell, and Mark Rothko among them—Tover’s paintings are defined by bold contrasts, layered textures, and an intuitive, fearless process.

Each piece begins without a plan—just a blank canvas and the intent to disrupt perfection. Through this open-ended exploration, Tover uses color, form, and line to create works that spark emotional connection and personal interpretation. His art invites viewers to experience a visual journey that mirrors the complexities and beauty of life itself.

Tover’s work has been collected worldwide, from the U.S. to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He maintains an active studio in the SF Bay Area and is a dedicated advocate for the arts community through teaching, curating, and civic engagement.
