Happy Life Pottery
Happy Life Pottery is a labor of love brought to you by David and Amy Stellato.
After leaving his corporate career to be more present in the lives of his teenage boys, David discovered and fell in love with the art of making pottery while living in Austin, Texas, in 2014. Shortly afterwards, this creative outlet became invaluable to him, as it served as a source of joy even throughout the most difficult year of his life: battling Stage 4 cancer.
In 2016, David met Amy, another artist who had similarly just left her corporate career in search of a more “Happy Life.” They met at the pottery studio in which they both received their training and did their clay work, so it did not take long before they were making plans to use their business and art backgrounds to help bring more joy and creativity into the world together.
Shortly afterwards, life threw another curveball when they learned David’s mother had cancer and had been given only a 13% chance of survival. They immediately moved to California to care for her, and when she recovered, they resumed their plans – but this time, in beautiful Benicia, California, opening Happy Life Pottery, an art & gift boutique along with a teaching studio, named after their intention to allow more happiness into their lives.
More About Us
The Happy Life Pottery Art & Gift Boutique offers more than just pottery! It features a variety of art pieces, jewelry, scarves, aprons, glasswork, woodwork and more from artists who are local as well as from other parts of the country. There is also an additional sprinkling in of home & gift items from fair trade companies who support international artisans.
The teaching studio specializes in non-intimidating classwork designed to inspire and teach those who need a creative outlet but often don’t consider themselves “artists.” The goal is for all class participants to be challenged (whatever their skill level) but still emerge with confidence and a pride in what they were able to create. Additionally, the Happy Life Pottery team works to foster an atmosphere of friendly inclusiveness and fun so that everyone feels comfortable and part of the community!
